Wisconsin NCAA Tournament Outlook

Wisconsin basketball has its last non-conference game on Friday vs the Fightin’ Rattlers of Florida A&M before it starts the B1G slate.

The Badgers didn’t make it easy on themselves amid the coaching change last season, but kept its streak of NCAA tournament appearances alive.  Wisconsin is well on pace to make it 19 consecutive NCAA tournaments this season.    The Badgers have good wins against Tennessee (Maui), Georgetown (Maui) Syracuse (Madison), Oklahoma (Madison), Marquette (Milwaukee).

Wisconsin ranks #10 in the Pomeroy rankings.  However, the Badgers are only #48 in the RPI rankings due to a weak SOS (163) and having gone 0-2 against the RPI Top 1-25 with losses to UNC in Maui and @Creighton.   The SOS will improve come conference play with 5 B1G team currently in the RPI Top 40 (#8Minnesota, #17Maryland, #30Purdue, #38Illinois, #40Northwestern).
